FARM PRODUCTS & GUEST SERVICES

The farm produces several traditional products over the course of the seasons, some of which are available for purchase. Two hayfields are cut in July and late August producing pesticide-free hay for our own livestock and supply to local farms. An organic garden provides a winter's supply of cold-weather crops and corn that is harvested in late August and September. Our ten Coopworth ewes are shorn in late April or May and provide wool to be woven into blankets or spun into yarn for hand-knitters. Occasionally we have border-collie puppies, ewes or lambs, or miniature horses for sale. Sugaring season begins in late February and runs through March. In October apples are gathered from the old orchard and wild trees around the farm to take to a wooden cider press where they are turned into fresh cider. November, December and January are reserved for Holidays, time with family, rest and renewal as we weather the winter storms and begin the New Year. Gift and specialty food items are available during this season.

Traditional New England Fiddle & Dance Music
I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity, through a grant offered by the Vermont Folklife Center, to Apprentice for one year with Harold Luce, a Master Vermont Fiddler from Chelsea. Our band has since provided background music and performed for audiences at events such as Historical Society meetings, weddings, family reunions, talent shows, fiddle contests, and Community Contra-dances. Our fondest place to play is in the kitchen, livingroom or an outdoor space where a circle of friends are gathered. We would be happy to share this music and tradition with you during your stay.

Dance - Lessons/organizing, hosting

If your party is interested to attend a local dance (Contra, Folk, Swing) or traditional music jam session or hold a Swing or Contra-dance at our Tunbridge Grange Hall, we can make the arrangements for you and either provide the music or book a full band and dance caller or DJ. Holding a potluck just prior to the dance is a nice way to make a full evening of social gathering. Our instructors are available for introductory lessons in a variety of dance styles.

Please let us know in as far in advance as possible of the custom services you would like us to provide so we can plan accordingly.
